Eid’l Adha Al Mubarak
My warmest greetings to all Muslims here and elsewhere as we celebrate the Eidl Adha.
As we try to relive the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ishmael, we are reminded again of the meaning and significance of personal sacrifice for the good of society and the larger community in which we belong. No amount or form of sacrifice may ever compare to a father having to offer the life of his own son.
May this continue to serve as a compelling example and inspiration to us Muslims as we take on the challenges of our time. The Mindanao peace process presents a challenge and opportunity to our nation of Moros. Let us live up to the values we share and collectively cherish as we persevere in our quest for self-determination.
The working government of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao is now setting the groundwork and standard of governance for the political entity that will follow it. We believe the outcome of the peace process would be a new beginning and a brighter future for the Bangsamoro. Sacrifice is an option we are willing to take.
May the Eid bring hope and joy to every family in the region as we join in thoughts and prayers our brothers and sisters performing the Hajj this year. May The Almighty Allah (SWT) accept and reward their prayers and sacrifices.
I hope we will share the blessings of peace, happiness and prosperity in the year ahead. Again, Eid Mubarak!
