CSC-ARMM hosts Mindanao regional sports fest
Cotabato City (01 August 2014) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) regional office in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) hosted the 6th CSC Mindanao Regional Sports Festival this year, a three-day sports event participated in by five of CSC’s regional offices.
The event kicked off Thursday in a ceremony graced by CSC Commissioner Roberto Martinez. Martinez with Leopoldo Valderoza, CSC-ARMM director, led the lighting of the cauldron that signaled the start of the sports fest that carries the theme, “Malusog na Pangangatawan, Matalas na Isipan, Tungo sa Mahusay na Paglilingkod sa Bayan”.
“This kind of event is vital for the CSC in keeping its mandate as the central human resources institution of the country. It shows how we foster holistic growth in the workplace, more so with our workforce,” said Martinez.
He said this is in keeping with CSC Memorandum Circular No. 08, Series of 2011 or the “Reiteration of Physical Fitness Program for Government Personnel.”
Martinez said the need to balance work and personal development is a must for all public servants.
Participants will compete in events that include basketball, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, dart, chess and athletics. (Bureau of Public Information)
