ARMM’s economic zone authority celebrates 11th founding anniversary
Cotabato City (20 August 2014) – The Regional Economic Zone Authority of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao celebrated today their 11th founding anniversary.
During the opening program, lawyer Loren Halillah Lao, executive director of REZA-ARMM, said this year’s celebration is different because it will be a working- anniversary.
“We still have a lot to work on to so it will be a working anniversary,” said Lao.
Representing ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman on the opening salvo was Rasol Mitmug Jr., the region’s deputy executive secretary.
Mitmug commended the present leadership of REZA-ARMM for accepting the challenge to run the non-operational office and stepping- up its performance.
“The Hataman administration fully supports you in all your endeavors,” said Mitmug.
Line up of activities for their anniversary celebration include capacity-building to be conducted by the Philippines Economic Zone Authority, work plan crafting, 5S training, and team-building activity. The week-long celebration will culminate on Monday, August 25.
Also included in their activities line up is the second Board of Directors meeting slated next month.
According to Lao, all of the activities for their celebration are geared towards improving their office operation and to capacitate their personnel.
She added that before the Bangsamoro comes in, she hopes that a regional economic zone in the region will be fully institutionalized.
“Before we leave, we hope that REZA-ARMM has attracted more investors and created more jobs in the region,” Lao said.
REZA-ARMM works on economic zone management at enterprise registration within the said zone.
